The importance of natural results

Written by Jeanot Knols | Aug 2, 2024 2:43:35 PM

Clients come to our clinic because they want to look better. They want to improve their looks. But they don’t want to look essentially different. And that’s is, when it comes to aesthetic treatments, one of their biggest fears. Natural results, that’s what clients nowadays want. This article describes why natural changes are so important to them, why it’s important to know more about the (social) impact of the treatments you provide and how the Real Face Value app can help you with that.

Three reasons clients have for aesthetic treatments
First of all: When clients come on an initial consultation, ther is one of these three reasons:

  1. They would like to have a specific treatment because they know somebody who had that treatment and they want to have the same. This can be a neighbour, a friend or even an influencer on social media.
  2. They are worried about a specific aspect of their face. For example they don’t like a wrinkles or eyelid and want a treatment for that.
  3. There is a social reason. People come to see us because they feel in a certain way. They feel they look tired or stressed all the time. In our practice that’s in about 50% of all consultations.

Treatments for question one and two we have done so many times over the years. We understand what the clients want and we provide that treatment. But with the social question it’s different. People feel in a certain way and we don’t actually know what kind of social impact our treatments have. Sometimes people look even worse because of the treatments that we do. They feel that they lose themselves along the way. And that is what people are worried about.

Taboos and misunderstandings about aesthetic treatments
They are worried about the results for themselves and they are worried about how people react, because:

  • Although more and more accepted, treatments are considered unnatural. The client could be judged for it, which makes communication openly about treatments difficult.
  • Some people believe that changing one's appearance changes one's identity because unique features or expressions are lost.
  • Because of social media and filters in photo apps, people have unrealistic beauty ideals and different expectations
  • Although more common among men, there remains a taboo that it is more acceptable for women than men. This can lead to reluctance among men to consider treatments.

The impact of natural changes
Unnatural changes are changes that are overdone. Natural changes have to do with radiation. We radiate so much more than age and beauty. For these changes we need to know more about the social impact, because what you radiate determines how people act and react.

Real Face Value

Real Face Value created an app that helps you to deliver natural changes. It translates any request your client might have into the most suitable options available to you. So if your client feels tired or sad, we can now tell and show you what treatments exactly are best suited to improve on that and how you will most likely look afterwards.
